Tags in movie files
« on: October 19, 2002, 10:53:27 am »

Just a quick question... It seems that when I try to save tags in movie (mpg) files, it won't save!  I'm trying to organize all my music videos with Artist, Title, etc...  and while it shows up fine in the MJ database, if I delete and re-import, the files don't have the tags anymore!  If anyone has a suggestion that would be great.

Does anybody know anything about MPEG video tagging standards?  (because we don't)

It would be great to be able to tag videos, but we don't know what format to put the tags in.  Do we have to create our own solution?

Thanks for any pointers.

I would have thought a similar solution to the image tagging would be good.  That way we could have custom tags like Director, Actors etc.

I'll do a bit of research and see if I can find anything...

Here is a sytem for tagging AVI files.  Don't know if it might be of any use??

http://kibus1.narod.ru/sof/abcavi/index.htm

Ill have a think about what tags would be useful and if others can add some in too we should be able to get a pretty good system.

First thoughts - Title, Genre, Director, Rating (Classification), Producer, Actors, Cover image to be displayed in Album art view (as at the moment the first frame is shown which in most cases for my movies is blank),  (Im pushing for ideas now)Link to soundtrack(?), Reviews, eh..... , Anyone else??
