Is it possible to get a copy of MC9 with a different install process?
I've tried using IE, Netscape, and an Internet Download manager, and have downloaded both the "last known stable" 9_1 and the latest 9.1.274 (so two separate files). I've tried it installing in SAFE mode, and normal mode on BOTH Windows 98SE and Windows XP Home.
I'm quite frustrated. ? I have tried clearing IE's temp files (including offline files), and tried emptying the TEMP directory in the .../Local Settings/Temp, neither of which helps. I still can't get the actual Install Wizard to launch. I've tried searching for the actual wizard executable, but I must not be typing in the exact filename, because I can't find it. Can someone give me an alternative way to install MC9, or at least some more information about where the uncompressed install directory (and Wizard exec.) lives?
Thanx,
J.
