Directory Updating
« on: December 21, 2002, 10:47:00 am »

Hey there everyone, Im new to Media Jukebox, and was wondering if there was any way this program can automatically update my directories when I open MJ8... when I add new sons to my harddrive, I first put them in a "recent" folder than, when I get around to it, those files go into the correct file folders.. (i.e. Rap, Hip-Hop) Right now I just imported all my files, it took about 3-4 minutes... and the files in my "recent" folder are now in thier correct spaces.  It seems a bit much to have to re-import ALL of my files when I want to update MJ8,  :-/ .

Why don't you just import the folders that have been updated? After you do that you can update database. I don't think there is an automatic way of doing this in MJ.

I am doing that now... but like I said - I am sorting my music by genre, and when, let's say I put a few new tracks into my "Rap" folder, I have to import all 1000 of the songs I have, which seems a bit much.
