Curious about developers
« on: October 25, 2003, 12:50:23 pm »

I'm a paying costumer now and I'm a little bit curious about the team behind the software! How many guys (or girls for that matter) does the dev-team consist of? What's your monthly budget/salary for this kind of program? How many licenses do you sell in, let's say, a month? How much difference will my 39.98 make (and by the way, I'm from Sweden so it's a lot more than that for me ;))? I had some more questions which I seem to have forgotten, but I'll be glad for some answers just to these! Great software!

/Tommy

Well, I must admit that I didn't expect all questions to be answered :) Like salaray and stuff, sometimes you're not even allowed to tell your workmates about it, so no chance telling a community ;) Thanks anyway!

Can't say more than I agree.... for 39.98 you won't get a tank of gas BY FAR! 0,75 seems like a reasonable amount...

Very Close - In the UK $39.98 = £25 which buys me exactly 0.73 tankls of diesel or petrol.

Off topic, right?
My 0,75 tank is based on 65 liter regular unleaded @ 1,03€/liter
(17,1 gallons for those who use ancient units @ 4,46$/gallon)  ;)
Diesel is about 20% less but therefore the taxes (and prices) for diesel cars are much higher so it pays off only if you drive more than 20000 km (12500 mi)/year

@Tommy: I was always curious about sold copies, too. I don't know but you can try to estimate. This forum has currently 7839 members (including MJ8 users) Since this forum is the only way for support and you have to register to post questions you only have to guess how many users (%) may get their information by just reading threads without register themselves. Whatever your guess is, compared to the 23,488,814 downloads of Winamp 2.91 on download.com we are "Elite"

I confirm JimH's denial
I categorically deny that money or Yugos have changed hands for this confirmation.

I could confirm this, too, I think.

Completely OT but

Amrerican gallon = 3.6 litres
British gallon = 4.2 litres

come to think of it an american pint of beer is smaller than a british pint as well ( 500ml c.f 630 ml)

Cant imagine why the american measure is smaller

Not to be too much a stickler, but there are 3.7854 liters in one U.S. gallon.
