BUG: ASIO playback on Audigy 2 hangs MC.
To update my previous bug report (posted in the previous 298
thread), it turns out the problem not specific to that particular APE sample file.
Three ASIO devices are listed:
Creative ASIO
SB Audigy 24/96 ASIO [6800]
SB Audigy ASIO [6800]
I'm not sure if the "Creative ASIO" entry is a Windows XP "default" driver, or something added by Creative Labs, but it's what MC defaults to (since it's first in the list), and it hangs MC after displaying the following dialog box:
If I set MC to use "SB Audigy ASIO [6800]" instead, everything works fine.I only post this now because most "new, inexperienced" users would probably leave it at its default setting ("Creative ASIO") and wonder why MC keeps crashing on them.
