Drive E not working
« on: January 14, 2004, 07:31:21 am »

Anyone have any assistance with this problem.  My drive D works fine for ripping CD's, and it is purely a CDROM.  Drive E on the other hand does not work for Ripping.  I have not tried burning yet.  When I go into the tools menu, and change the rip drive to E, click save, it automatically saves it as D, and I can not get it to say E to save my life.  I know one of you guys knows something about these things.  Or at least more than me.  Maybe you can point me in the right directions.  Much appreciated.

Drew

I see nothing wrong. Is the drive accessible and fully operational from some other (free) program? Try Exact Audio Copy or WMP. What's your drive history? Has it ever worked properly?

It worked with MJ8, but stopped working with MC9.  I just recently upgraded.

It works as a cdrom, but when I put in a cd, it pulls up another software package, and does not use MC9.

I will try some other packages, to see if the drive works with them as a basic cdrom, as well as the write portion of the drive.

That may be it. The other prog may be interfering with MC. Hold the Shift key down for 5-10 sec's after inserting CD...then check out drive accessibility with MC.
