An update after more test-runs...
I still get the same error on the initial playlist I based the previous post on. I tried another playlist similar to the first - alike in that it's a mix of mp3, wav, ogg files, etc. - and with the OGG files on the same source drive. MC reported a successful test. However, when it came to the OGG files the per track progress bar shot ahead unusually fast, reaching the end in a second or two while waiting for the per cd progress bar to trudge ahead, it seems.
Again, I cannot explain this. My burner - Plextor 48/24/48 external - is supported by MC with a non-generic driver. I've disabled auto-insert in the registry, rebooted, etc, but to no avail. At the bottom is the sysinfo I forgot before.
I'd appreciate any and all suggestions.
Thanks...
