Can a v10 license be used with v9.1?
« on: January 26, 2004, 04:15:43 am »

Looking here:

http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/buy_faq_10.html

Doesn't seem to tell me or if it does I didn't see it.

Also is the database backwards compatible?

I would like to know because I need to test my plugins with both v9.1 and v10.

Thanks for that.

Matt/Jim, does that mean if I install v9.1, register it, install v10 and register it I loose my v9.1 registration and I have to use up a restore if I want to go back to v9.1?

I'm not sure Rhino.

V10 doesn't work with a V9 license.  When you upgrade to V10, you get a real V10 license.  Your old V9 license (still valid) would probably need to be used if you went back.

The database format is unlikely to change now.

If you are going to test your plug ins with 9.1 & 10 the ideal solution would be to have 2 pc's or if you don't have access to 2 then install another OS on a second partition, install 9.1 on there and get some some software that'll let you boot from either partition.

No, my ideal solution would be for MC to support multiple versions of itself on the same PC.

Yeah, I expected as such.   But we were in the realms of fantasy so I thought I'd share my dream.
