What folder should aspi files be installed to
« on: November 26, 2002, 02:14:32 pm »

In MJ 388 and 392 my CD Writer is not found. I let the program download and install the necessary aspi files but it was still not recognized.

Then I went to the Adaptec page and downloaded aspi_v471.2.exe and extracted the files to
\windows\temp, still with no success.

Can anyone tell me what I should do?

Thank you
Holden

Just unpacking the files doesn't do anything.  You have to run the installer... aspiinst.exe

Yep, My First Mistake

all the files should be under c:\adaptec

I don't know why they do that.

After you install you need to run the program

aspichk.exe

to make sure everything went ok.

Thanks for the quick responses guys.

Jim H, I don't have Nero.

RemyJ, followed your advice and all works great again. Thank you.

King, I had tried RemyJ's advice before I saw your post and it worked fine. But I appreciate the further advice you gave.
