Long delay after last track
« on: February 23, 2004, 05:34:52 pm »

The negative:

Per the subject line, I get up to and including a 10 sec delay after the last track plays before MC becomes responsive again (format has no effect). It is influenced by the Between Tracks setting which I have set to Cross-fade (smooth) with a 3 sec duration. Seeking is set to Smooth (normal) and Stop to Fadeout (slow). Not critical, but sort of irritating.

The positive:

Fading between tracks works exceptionally well.

Fadeout on stop doesn't let the program respond until it's done stopping.  This may change someday, but it's not a trivial change.

10.0.84 appears to have fixed this...must say...very cool! Last major annoyance is gone.

Tanks!

edit: may have been a bit hasty...still delays but seems to be shorter

I also have the long delay and locking up after mc stops playing a track. This was not an issue with v9.  I'm using the cross fade and fadeout (slow) options.

How do you have the setting for trim silence?

Fadeout (slow) on stop will have the delay.

If this is bothersome, you can disable fadeout stopping in Options > Playback.

That was it...when set to fast or immediate she becomes responsive again quickly. I didn't make the connection (til now) that stop meant all stops (not just user initiated).

Thanks,
