Multiple ASIO chanels
« on: March 17, 2004, 03:17:03 pm »

If I read the docs correctly MC10 supports ASIO but only one zone at a time can use ASIO,  others would have to use the WAV mapper...

Is there a plan to enable multiple zones to use different ASIO channels sumultaneously.

Some drivers will allow multiple ASIO zones to run at a time.  You have to try it with your card / drivers to see if it will work.

Oh well...it doesn't work on my Revo.  I will check out m-audio support to see if this is in the future....I doubt it they probably prefer to keep this for their higher end cards.

It's probably not hardware dependent, but dependent on how the driver is written.

Some drivers (and the ASIO SDK itself) are written with old-style C code that doesn't like running more than one of itself at a time inside the same program.

We were able to step around the limitation in Steinberg's ASIO SDK, but I don't think there's anything we can do about a driver / card that fails to open a second time.

Maybe M-Audio will add it to their next driver if enough people request it.

Thanks kpurch.
