Well, I've been having problems with CD burning for a while now, but from build 10.0.83 things have taken a turn for the worse. Basically, now MC crashes whenever there is any kind of media in the optical drive - either a DVD or a CDR.
Prior to build .83 or thereabouts I could drag and drop from MC to Nero, and things worked fine. However, now if I start Nero and then start MC, the system will freeze up around 10 seconds later. The mouse cursor locks up and ctrl-alt-del doesn't work.
Similarly, if there is a DVD in the optical drive and I start MC10, it will work for a few seconds - I can change views, select menus, etc. but then after about 10-15 seconds it will crash, hard, again.
Even if I do nothing, MC will crash hard 10-15 seconds after a DVD or CDR is placed in the drive.
I believe this must have something to do with auto-insert notification or autoplay. However, everything is set to do nothing, both in Windows and and in MC10.
I am guessing that something is locking up when MC10 tries to update the tree. Is there any event/process that would take place a few seconds after MC launches, or optical media is inserted? Note that MC crashes a few seconds after starting if optical media is already in the drive, AND MC crashes when optical media is inserted once MC is started.
Like another poster with stability problems, I have a 6-in-1 card reader on my system, mapped as drives M: and N:, also an external USB2.0 HDD on G:.
I have enabled logging on CD burning as per instructions, but MC is crashing before the burn can start.
There are no other issues with this system - other burning software and DVD playback software is working fine.
