I know we have been down this road before. I know you have explained it to me, and I know that I understood what you said.

Here I am again complaining that the "Assorted" checkbox in the "Rename Files From Properties" dialog does not work.

I have all my files in a single directory. They all have the exact same album title. They have several different Artists. If I use the "Rename Files From Properties" dialog to move them from the location I downloaded them to, to the location where I store them, each artist ends up in his / her own folder instead of the "Assorted" artist folder.

I know that several builds ago I verified that this does work. Now it doesn't. Please either fix or tell me what the hell I am doing wrong.

If you have files from other albums in the same directory, MC won't consider any of the albums in that directory a mix.

This is to prevent false positives that used to happen and drive people nuts.

If you have one giant download directory, you may need to manually tell MC to use your Assorted directory instead of using the [Artist] keyword.

That explains it. However a tool that worked great is just not intuitive anymore.

People with unorganized libraries where everything was in the same folder got really confused when things started showing up as (Assorted) for reasons they didn't understand.

The new logic works if you're organized, and doesn't get in your way if you're not organized.

Getting organized may require an extra step now.
