[Mastiff]

After almost two years without a real dog (the papillon does not count) we've finally got a real one again! A mastiff, of course. You can see a few pictures of her on my webpage (bottom link on the main page), and I will put up more in a while. We're very satisfied with her, she's the most promising pup I have seen, and one of the most promising the breeder has seen. And she has been breeding mastiffs for many, many years!

I'm bumping this totally shamelessly, I have seen so many cat messages here in the years I've been around, so I figure us dogs really deserve to have our say!   (I know that I have only been registered since the fall of 2002, but I was lurching for at least a year before that since I didn't really have anything worthwile to say - which is pretty much the way it still is, I gues...)

did you get the dog in the uk (i seem to recall thats where they are usually bred)?  if so then how did you get it back home?

That's correct, but this time it was a flying mastiff. I flew from Stavanger (on the west coast of Norway) via Copenhagen to Heathrow Saturday the 13th and back directly to Stavanger on Sunday the 14th.

i didnt think No was in the Eu - dont you need to leave the dog in quarrantine?

are ALL mastiffs bred in the UK?  How about over here in the States?

No, all mastiffs aren't bred in the UK, they're bred in pretty much every country in the world. But England has a breeder with exactly the type of dog I'm looking for, so that's where it came from. And there will be more pictures, I will probably add some every weekend from now on. Your girlfriend has very good taste, btw!

And no, Norway isn't in the EU. But we are free of rabies, and so is most of Great Brittain (or maybe all - at least England, Scotland and Wales) so no quarantine is needed. Actually sending dogs from a rabies free country to any country is easy. It's the other way that requires quarantine.
