Media server questions
« on: March 21, 2004, 10:48:06 am »

1. What are the pros/cons of using media center as a client to media server vs. accessing music files via a network share?

2. Are media server clients available for other platforms eg. Pocket PC, Linux? Or is there a web interface for media server?

Thanks,

Tim

I, too, would like a client for Pocket PC.  I am running PPC 2003.

1) You don't corrupt the database by having two people write to it at the same time.

2) There are no other clients.

I am using Cinemar's MainLobby and MusicLobby on PC and MusicLobbyPPC on a Pocket PC with Wi-Fi. Works fantastic. Cinmar has the correct MC plug-in's. Link is www.cinemaronline.com.

John,

Am I right in thinking that the media server API is undocumented (no SDK)? If so, any chance of publishing the API so we could create other clients?
