Hauppauge drivers for TV card
« on: March 25, 2004, 05:55:41 am »

Why is there such a big difference between MC and http://www.iulabs.com/iuvcr/index.shtml or http://www.digtv.ws/ ?

I would first recomend adding a faq entery to mantian their BT878 drivers as well as the ones found on sourceforge.

I encountered some problems using MC in setting chanels - the chanel number didn't go above a certiain number.
But the worse problem was during recording. I could barely record to xvid, which iuVCR offers easy. sound didn't sync.
and there are less functions.

In fact I haven't used MC for TV lately.
Now I try to set it up with the source forge wdms, which work fine with 4 other programs.
In the country there are no options, so I get stock, and have to kill the MC task.

why? the free wdms give better quality then the Hauppauge ones.

Why don't you talk to Hauppauge about it?

Why don't you talk to Hauppauge about it?

I understand that is took some effort for you to code in the tv fearutes to MJ.  and having the same tagging features to my videos, would be great.
But.
I do think that a lot has already been accomplished in that field with existing software, like showshifter. and I would like to see the same features on MC. like your signature states, no need to make the same mistake others did.

As to the Hauppauge drivers - please try these drivers http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/
their quality is much better. Better frequency setting, radio support.
after you'll try them I think that you will agree with me that there is no need to have the original drivers.
