3d Viz in build 111
« on: April 08, 2004, 04:59:41 pm »

I know you only want bugs, but I've got to say that the 3D visualisations are looking amazing now. That quality issue has certainly gone and they're looking better than they ever were.

And with the ones that have been added, I just had to download this version even though I hadn't gone round to installing the .100 I'd just downloaded! I'm a 3D-vis-junkie, I think!

Ooer! Did I speak to soon?

I've got the picture show running. I just changed albums. One of the faces of the cube still has the previous album's cover art on it - the rest have the correct one. Is it meant to do that? :-)

It's just gone onto the second track of the album and they all seem right now...

Well, I went to look at the new 3D visualizations. When I selected Picture Show, got an error message along the lines of:

"The runtime has received a request to terminate in an unusual way. The program will be shut down"

The title of the dialog was something like Microsoft C++ Runtime, and it gave the name of the executable as the correct J River/Media Center/Media Jukebox.exe.

The other 3D visualizations seem to work OK.

gpvilamil,
It may be DirectX.  Try doing Windows update and see what it says.  It's also possible the video driver could be the problem.

They are awesome Matt (and Jim.)
I've never really cared for 3d vis (my cpu can't really handle it,) but now we got the option to show our own pictures, I find it really cool.
Now you just need an option to make a screensaver kinda feature so the 3d vis when MC isn't used, and remove it when you touch a key or the mouse. That would be great for parties!

Hi,

Nice 3D Pics cube and show.

Also got a MVC++ error and a Media Core crash when using either of them first time. Went Ok next times I tried.
Did a M$ update and checked that my DirectX was last version (9).
Rebooted, tried again and, bang, MVC++ runtime error again. Still ran Ok after the first crash in a win session !

Anyway  those new 3D viz are nice, thank Matt :)

cheers,

Christian

Wow....  What a great feature!  I love it.

Currently the only way I have found to change images within the image playlist is to click within the MC visualization screen.  It would be nice to have an option for timing image changes.

Great for party mode on overheads screens.

Thanks for a great new feature!  ;D

I think that the interval between slide changes is the same as set in the slide show setup.  Start a group of images playing from the tree in Standard View and then right click on the screen to get to the setup for image display.

I also had the wierd core error (don't really remember what it said) on the first running, but all's well again.  probably a bug, but I'm not too worried about it.

For now you might have to rename the playlist.
