Ripping problem
« on: April 20, 2004, 08:12:10 am »

I have just finished ripping about 150 cds and about 5-10 of them had major problems. The disks were fine, but mc would read to about 2-5% of usually the first or second track then freeze. eventually the burner would spin down, and pressing cancel or any other button in the interface  did nothing. had to forciblly close mc and restart again.

This happened while ripping to mp3 in both secure and normal mode.

However... put the same cds in itunes and rip and I had no problems whatsoever. ripped at 7x speed or something.

I dont mind doin it this way for a handful of cds but I dont want to rip to aac while mc doesnt really fully support it, and i heard that itunes mp3 encoder sucks.
Hope this isnt just with me.

Thanks.

Please copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.

Did the YADB lookup work?  It's looking up the CD info when you first insert the disk and if this wasn't working, it might explain things.
