MP3 CD with folders and subfolders
« on: April 18, 2004, 06:37:57 am »

Hi.

I'm using the trial version of MC 10 and I need to be able to do this if I plan on purchasing it.

How do I create a CD with a 1) the name of the CD i.e. Country Ballads, 2) folders such as Old Ballads, New Ballads, etc., 3) Subfolders with the name of the original CD, and then subfolders inside those that have the Artists name and then the actual songs inside.

All I see is "Drag and drop files here" and a complete list is shown, but not with any folders and sub folders.

Please help!

Thank you.

Greg :)

Try exploring some of the options that are available.

Also try the Help in the program.

I've tried as many options as I figure apply to this situation, but I guess I'll keep trying.

Thanks.

Gregorius:

Im not sure that I understand exactly what you want, but Ill give this a try.

For 1) you can give the CD a volume name in the first step of the burn process.

For 2) and 3), once youve dragged at least one file into the drop area, you can select the options menu from that same area. The menus you want are CD folder naming and CD file naming. The custom option allows you to create a folder structure out of any of your library fields if the presets are not what you want. But if you have classified Old Ballads, New Ballads etc in a library field (eg Genre) you should be able to do what you want I think. I dont think you can edit the folders manually.

and a complete list is shown, but not with any folders and sub folders.

On my install (v10.0.116) I see CD Folder and CD Filename in the burn list. What you dont get is a tree view of the CD before its burnt.

I hope this helps.

Also, you can individually edit the folder names in the tree view (select the folder and press F2 or use the right click menu). Be aware that if you go back to the options menu and pick another folder naming option, your custom edits will be overwritten with the newly chosen scheme.
