How do we stop those annoying banner (animated) signatures from scrolling when viewing posts (those sigs that some people use in their posts).

Basically, it drives me nutz and I just exit those posts immediately without reading them.

I'm hoping YABB has a user selectable profile setting that allows us to disable them (ideally).

Yeah, and can you do something about those animated avatars as well?

I agree completely. I use Mozilla to kill off the majority of avatars and images. (right-click, Block Images from this Server). Scrolling and blinking elements are a great example of "just because we can, doesn't mean we should", IMO.

Some boards only allow avatars that are served from their site, and keep them in folders named 'avatars' so people can filter them out if they wish. This also cuts down on other potential issues with external sources - cookies, script inserts, etc.

Yeah, and those obnoxious taglines about accidental destruction of the world, and those plugging Warner Bros. employees.  And those avatars of NFL football players.  Whatever happened to good ole' fashioned smut pics?  C'mon, clean up 'dis joint.

Haha...but at least with those animated avatars you can just press the Browser's STOP button and the animations stop.  Or, use a program like Free Surfer Mk II and stop popups & animated GIFs all togheter.

I love Mozilla - delete a few chrome references and the marquee tag no longer exists.
