Submitting track info to YADB
« on: May 11, 2004, 03:33:05 pm »

Overcome with guilt that I might be slacking, I've just submitted 50+ tracks to YADB.  Not one of them seems to have worked - is there some trick to this? I selected the tracks and right click / library tools / submit track info.

How did you determine that it didn't work?

I tried updating the tags of the tracks I'd added - MC returns the message "File information was retrieved for 0 of 1 files."

Try deleting the tags and renaming the file, and then see what happens.

OK, I'll do this when I get home.  However, when I had a look this morning, one of the 2 albums was OK, ie I could get track info from YADB.  Submitting another album, from a different PC, worked fine first time, too.

I tried it, but it had no effect!

Are you sure the submit worked?

Try the submit again, and note the time and your IP address (if you can). I'll check the logs for error messages.

Done!  It's 22:12 GMT and my IP address is 80.3.160.5. I've tried this 3 times now, so I'm guessing the submit hasn't worked  ;)

It's a bug - Yadb is choking on your data. Resubmit, and I can find out which field is not working, then fix it. Let me know when you have...

Thanks,

Done at 17:47 GMT.  I missed one of the tracks so submitted it separately.

The problem is the "Track #" field is missing. I should handle this better, but in the meantime, shouldn't your tracks have "Track #"s?

You're right - they're not there, and they should be!  I don't display the track # so I never noticed they were missing.  That said, they were ripped with MC, so is there some way of not including them?  I had a problem with a corrupt library a few weeks ago and recovered from a backup - maybe that would account for it?
