licence problem
« on: June 17, 2004, 03:35:29 pm »

Hi
I purchased Media Center 9 a while ago and never had problems with it.
I have now bought a new pc and have installed MC.
I went to re-install my licence, never having used any restores, I expected to still find 10 restores left. Imagine my dismay when I found I had NO RESTORES LEFT ?

How is this possible?

Any suggestions ?

Did you tell your serial number to anyone you know?

Hi Martin,

I show that you have used most of your restores, but still have a couple left.

The restores that were done were done sporadically since January (18 months ago), suggesting that it's only one or two people.

It's a long time ago, but I'd look for someone with access to your computer last January 21st or before.

Also, every time a restore is done, we send an e-mail. Did you get those e-mails?

Hi John,
Thanx for the reply. I changed my email provider some time ago, and have no idea who has had access to my pc in January, but having a chat with a certain 10 year old in my house, I am led to believe he knows what Media Center is......but denies ever copying or using any restores. I think I know what may have happened, disappointed, but that's life.

I think I need to upgrade anyways :) - is the price the same for oldies of the V9.0 school ?

Thanx for the trouble guys - I do appreciate it a LOT.

Oh - one last thing, since I changed my email, will jriver still recognise me as a paid customer and allow a restore?

Regards
Martin

Just one question about all this updating etc.

So when we finally get to like V20.00 in about 9 releases time it will have cost me $224.82 + the origional amount I paid for V9.0 ?

Where does one get a Paid for life with free upgrades thing ?

I'm no accountant, but this sounds like residual income and a neat retirement plan to me.

Matt - you guys are Geniuses!!

I'm off now to learn to program software.............
