Ripped Audio Not Heard - Checked Forum
« on: November 09, 2002, 07:53:04 am »

On too many occasions, after I've "ripped" multiple (4-10) songs from a specific CD, when I go back to play the newly encoded MP3's (320kbps), the 1st song played has no audio.  Go on to any of the following songs, they all can be heard.

This doesn't happen all the time, just enough to be irritatiing because I then have to "re-rip" the individual song again and then it will play.

Anyone else have this problem?

Could have something to do with XP's burn service. Do a forum search on "burncd" or "cdburn". They are not the name of the service to disable but in the same post(s) somewhere is the correct name.

Make sure you have latest ASPI (v4.72) and you could try using external ASPI (do this by going to Settings>Options>CD Writer settings and uncheck the Use internal ASPI option).

Another possibility is a somewhat corrupt MJ install.

One last thing....Does your XP user account have administrative rights? (this is necessary also when updating Adaptec ASPI)

Unchecking "Use Internal ASPI" and installing the latest ASPI driver for XP (4.72) was the fix.

Xen-uno, thanks for the assistance.
