Problem with media server
« on: August 03, 2004, 12:56:49 pm »

I have MC 10 installed on my HTPC.  From another computer in my home, connected to the same network, I attempt to connect to the media server using File->Library->Library Manager->Add, then use 10.0.0.113:20002 as the address.
When I attempt to connect, after a short pause I get two dialog boxes:

Failed to install package.

More Info: Failed to unzip file 'c:\temp\tmp49.tmp'.
URL: http://10.0.0.113:20002

Then:

Failed to download Media Library.

I used IE to connect to 10.0.0.113:20002 and I get the web interface for the media server, as expected.  I also tried MC 11 on the client side, with exactly the same results.

Any thoughts on what I should look at to solve the problem?

Overall, great product and my registration will be in this week.

Thx,

--Golden

Sounds like you have Web Remote running on that port, instead of Media Server.

Media Server should be in your system tray. Double check the port you are using.

Sorry, stupid new user mistake.  I didn't realize there was a separate component that needed to be executed.  It works great now.

Cheers,
