tivo and v 11
« on: August 22, 2004, 06:47:54 am »

Not sure which forum section this belongs....

Recently upgraded to V. 11 and now Tivo HMO does not work.  I do not (and have never) loaded Tivo beacon, I always use MC and a static IP in Tivo (no auto detect).  I have messed with it a couple of days, but dont really have time to experiment.  Am going to fall back to 10 where it has worked flawlessly and will move back to 11 in the future.  Has anyone else had trouble?

Here is the log:
08/21/04 20:39:58 - Server initialized
08/21/04 20:39:58 - sharer ready to accept connections
08/21/04 20:39:58 - Started auto response thread on port 5556.
08/21/04 22:49:07 - received a connection
08/21/04 22:49:08 - Current Connections: 1
08/21/04 22:49:08 - sharing thread started
08/21/04 22:49:08 - sending 415
08/21/04 22:49:08 - Client tried to download an unsupported file type.
08/21/04 22:49:08 - sharing thread exiting
08/22/04 02:59:05 - received a connection
08/22/04 02:59:05 - Current Connections: 1
08/22/04 02:59:05 - sharing thread started
08/22/04 02:59:12 - connection closed with no data
08/22/04 02:59:12 - read_http_request failed

I dont think there should be any firewall changes or anything else that I can think of.  No other new software installations.  I have not tried a remote MC client and wont be able to try that.

Rob.

I successfully "downgraded" back to 10 and everything works fine.  I would like to troubleshoot 11 though, so i think that error message is key.

If you can switch back to 11, run library manager and see where it is saving the library (that path looks correct). Then run Media Server to see if the library loads. Also use Windows Explorer to make sure the library is there.

I think the error 415 in your first message is replying to TiVo's queries on port 80 after it cannot connect to 8079.

I'm not sure why you didn't get the library error on startup though.

I did see that the library is stored in a different place.  I did go to that path and the library was there.  Like I said, I went back to 10, so I wont be able to test for a bit, maybe a couple weeks.  I can't "risk" not having my music streaming thru Tivo!!!   ;D
