iPod loses the last part of some tracks
« on: October 14, 2004, 12:45:09 am »

I've noticed recently a couple of the mp3's on my iPod stop playing near the end of the track.  The length on the iPod agrees with MC (to within a second), but the iPod just plays silence when it gets to a certain point (29 seconds from the end of a 1:40 track; 11 seconds from the end of a 1:43 track).  The tracks play fine if I connect the iPod and have MC play them directly, so it seems the files are okay.  I even tried retransfering them (deleting from the iPod and doing a fresh sync), but no change.

Most files play just fine.

I don't know if this is an iPod or MC bug, but I wondered if anyone else had observed this.

I'm running MC 10.0.157, plugin 9.0.126 (yes, I'm a little behind the times).

Could you email me a file which is displaying this behavior so I can begin to narrow down what the problem could be?

Thanks,

Do you happen to know which forum, and can you remember what the thread was named?

Thanks,

I'm running MC 10.0.157, plugin 9.0.126 (yes, I'm a little behind the times).

You might want to give the latest version of MC a try.  In the past, iPod issues have popped up with various releases that were subsequently fixed with a new release of MC.  I can't specifically remember if 10.0.157 was problematic, but according to the release dates, to more versions were released within a week of when 157 came out (159 and 161) so there may have been some fixes.

I had this issue a while back, but it was later fixed.

Let us know if the problem persists.

Any new news on this?  I'm curious since I had this issue a while back.  I'm wondering if this issue has returned, or if you were able to solve it somehow.

Thanks for any followup,

Larry

You mentioned "solutions" above, but I can't find any solutions in that thread that pertain to the iPod being used with MC.  The only solutions in that thread seem to be based on using iTunes.

Thanks again for any further information on this,

Larry
