Media JukeBox Crashes After Sitting In Pause
« on: October 28, 2002, 07:52:36 am »

My Media JukeBox repeatedly crashes after remaining on pause for more than a minute or so. When I return to MJB and hit play again....BAM......program freeze. Anybody got a fix for this.....?  ?

I downloaded current drivers, but it still does it. I am using Creative Audigy MP3 Audio Card and the new driver install took great, but we still have the problem.

We simply get a system (MJB) crash after resuming play from a paused state. The pause must be active for a minute or more though.

Any help would be very appreciated.  :'(

I experience this crash after having MJ paused too. I'm running Windows XP (SP1), the latest SB Live! drivers, and MJ 8.0.387.

I have experienced this crash too and guess what...I too am using a Soundblaster Live! card.  I think this is a problem with the creative drivers...

As you say, it's likely to be a driver problem.

A search at google may help.  I've seen a lot of information on Creative drivers when I've looked.

Something else to consider trying:

I have had this same problem, but on a laptop with a generic sound card.  Some time ago, here on the forum, someone suggested changing the "Output" from "Wave Out" to "Direct Sound" (found in the 'Playback' options section).  I did this and have not had a crash since - however, circumstances have not allowed me as much time to play MJ as before, so I cannot be certain that this fixed my problem.  Give it a try - and let us know if it works for you!
