Search Bar - Have I gone Mad??

I could be losing it, but here's the thing:  Using MC 10 (latest version), when I enter 'Duplicates:Artist Name'in the search bar, no matter what view scheme I'm in, MC lists all the files that appear in the full (top-level) list of duplicate tracks.  

So, because I have lots of APEs duplicated as MP3s for my Nomad, when I have a view scheme of only MP3s and search for duplicates, I get a list of files with no duplicated Artist and Name, cause the other files are APEs.

Now, I don't think this always happened...  Am I wrong? Is there a setting I changed without realising?  I was sure that the Search Bar was context-sensitive, but now I'm really confused...
