Webjay support? (edit: really just streaming m3u support)
« on: February 26, 2005, 02:55:10 pm »

Anyone using webjay?  its an awesome site to learn about new music.  Only problem is MC doesn't seem to recognize the Song and Artist info out of the m3u or out of the mp3s themselves.  With other evil music players, the song and artist info is recognized.

Any ideas on how to make MC work with Webjay?

Has anyone created Webjay playlists that they want us to checkout, if so, post them here!!!

www.webjay.org

EDIT: the playlist is streaming m3u playlist, nothing fancy.  Found this post asking for a fix:

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=19279.0

and this one:

and this much older one

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=16174.0

None of them ever got a response.

JRiver....  is there any reason the tags from these mp3's do not get picked up eithier from the m3u playlist or from the mp3 files themselves?

Thanks,

Does anyone else come across m3u files on the internet and want to be able to see song information when playing a playlist or am I the only one (well, me and the other three threads I quoted above).

Thank you marko for at least confirming what I have been experiencing.

JRiver, do you have a list of features you are targeting to include in version 11?  if it is posted in a thread here, can you provide a link for me?

I know that list would be a fluid work in progress, but maybe you could mark things as High, Med, Low priority or something.  I know you have asked us all for suggestions and compiled lists of things.  Internet radio features come up a lot.  My little issue here.   Other people have long running requests.   We  mostly just want to know that we have been heard and put on a list somewhere.

JRiver, could you let me know:

1.  understand the issue - we are working on it

2. understand the issue - we are not working on it

3. don't really know what you are talking about - please provide more information about what you are trying to do.

Thanks,
R.

I'm sorry, but we're busy with other things right now.

You know, i have seen this request asked for many times. *FIX* the tags with web streams. How many formats are there to tag web streams ?

And..which players handle this flawlessly ?
