Windows XP Upgrade
« on: October 26, 2002, 04:07:09 pm »

I upgraded to Windows XP last weekend (out of necessity, not by choice) and as a consequence my Media Jukebox will not open.  Anybody know what steps I'll need to take to get it back up and running?

Have you tried an uninstall and reinstall?

I would consider it a downgrade if it was originally Win2k.
As said though, reinstall should fix problem.

1. Start
2. Control Panel
3. System
4. Advanced Tab
5. Error Reporting
6. Disable

Also if you wish to speed things up, go into performance and select adjust to best performance. this turns off all the Windows XP Antimations And Skins.

Now, (finally...) you have the speed of W2K while still carrying all the bloat of XP (and that product activation >:(). As long as W2K is supported well (and it is), then what's the point?

Hey XP......Where's the beef?

well for users of windows 2000 i don't think i would bother updating but most users don't have windows 2000, and anything windows 98-WinME would be worth the upgrade or a new computer if it is slower than A Pentium III
