CES 2005
« on: January 08, 2005, 05:19:29 pm »

I just spent a couple of days at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.  Here are some pictures (taken with a Sony Clie):

It's a huge show, with about 150,000 people attending.  It's a big toy store, but after a while it gets a little mind numbing.  I spent two 5 hour sessions walking the floor and didn't come close to seeing it all.

Since Comdex died, CES is also the main U.S. show for computers.

There were a lot of cell phones, MP3 players, UPNP devices, and flat panel TV's.  Samsung and Sony had the biggest most interesting booths.  Creative was really pushing the Zen Micro and their booth was mobbed.  I couldn't even see the products because it was so crowded.

The biggest buzz is probably about cell phones right now.  The feature sets and configurations were amazingly variable.

Here's what it looked like walking around:

BTW, when I attended a couple of years ago, it was called the Consumer Electronics Show, not Computer Electronics Show (as it is labled over you photos). ;) ;D
