I can use the player as a removable drive so files tranfers nicely with various file tools. I am not able to listen copied files with the player.
Are you saying you can't play MP3s even if you transfer them with Musicmatch?
It looks like there are 4 possibilities:-
- Your player is broken and can't play anything
- Your files are corrupt and can't be played
- The transfer software is doing something wrong
- The transfer software isn't doing something it should
I had a look on the web and found an article here -
http://www.itreviews.co.uk/h596f-philips-hdd070-review.htm"We weren't that impressed by the Philips software, which you are obliged to use with this player, as it's
not very user-friendly. Apparently the software is locked to the player to protect musical copyright, so it
would seem that it's not just Creative that is playing this particular game."
And then I found this here -
http://ostg.pricegrabber.com/rating_getprodrev.php/product_id=3979708/id_type=M"The software needs to recode the mp3's name to the name format it understands, so you can't just
drag songs to the player or easily add them to the player from someone else's computer. The included
software needs to see what songs you have, it assigns a database number and then xref's to the name
in its database. "
It looks like it's the last option!
