Thumbnail Clutter
« on: January 18, 2005, 05:00:21 pm »

I recently made a new library and imported all my audio and photo files off my two portable hard drives. I ended up with over 16000 files, far too many. Checking them out I found a huge number of "thumbnail files" with only a number for tagging. I did a search for thumbnails and then deleted them from the MC library. But where do these files come from. This is the second time I have did this. The last time I deleted them from my hard drives also. Now they are back. What program creates these and do I need to keep them on my hard drives. When you bring them up to full screen the quality erodes to nothing. Suggestions please.

MC creates thumbnail files, but so do many other programs.  You might be able to tell where they're coming from by their file location.  Just use your mouse and hover over the image for a few seconds.
