WebRemote not listening?
« on: February 09, 2005, 06:51:43 pm »

Starting w/.190 and continuing now with .192, when I start MC11 I get this message that says it cannot start WebRemote listener or something like that.

Then I get a message that says RemoteServer is not working.

If I turn off the RemoteServer, this message goes away. But I may want to use RemoteServer.

What is this WebRemote thing? What is this message trying to tell me? Why did this just start now?

I am assuming you are referring to the remote server enabled through Tools->Options->Startup.  This allows you to control Media Center on another PC through a browser.

It defaults to port 80, so you might want to see if you have other services listening on that port that could be conflicting.

Thanks Shadowen because something you said made me look at the Port it was using and I realized that there was a conflict because I had set the NetRemote default port in MC (20002), but changed NetRemote to use iTunes -- duh, on the same port.

Thanks.
