Laptop as remote control
« on: February 14, 2005, 03:54:48 am »

Hi.

Great program! I have a setup using 2 computers. 1) A media computer (where JRiver is installed, and containing all my music) and  2) a laptop wirelessly connected through “remote desktop”. The remote desktop makes my laptop work as an interactive remotecontrol, and works fine. However it does not work in regard to movies, as I cannot have the same two places.

Does a “remote-control-client” exist for laptops?

Further I would like to have my pocketPC’s to work as a remote-control too (like Rudeo does for WMA). Does any Rudeo-like software exist for JRiver?

If no of the above control-softwares exists, I believe they would add quite a lot of value to the system. It is quite annoying that one need to turn on the TV/projector to change what music you hear!

Best regards,

Thomas

Thanks.  Take a look at NetRemote at www.promixis.com.  It runs on PPC's but also on Windows PC's.
