Transfering Media Files
« on: February 24, 2005, 05:47:28 pm »

I am setting up a new Media Server for all my home clients to access and want to know if there is a way to preserve coverart for mp3's and people, place, event info I entered for photos if I move the media to another machine. I dont want to enter the data all over again.

Thanx

Photos will have the tags filled by MC, so they should import fine on a new PC.

Cover art is a bigger subject.  The short answer is this.  If the path is the same, it will work.

If you have:
C:\music\cover art on the old machine

Then this will work:
C:\music\cover art on the new machine

But this won't:
C:\music\coverart
or
E:\new directory\cover art
