Problems with new forum software
« on: March 16, 2005, 06:12:57 pm »

Ever since the Interact software was upgraded, I've been having intermittent problems logging in. Of course, when this happens, I cannot leave a message to say I am having a problem.

At the moment I can login on the work machine fine (or rather, I am logged in already and it doesn't go away).

On my home machine however, I got logged off and now I can't get back in. I just show up as Guest.

In both cases I'm accessing Interact via Firefox v.1.0.1

I'm not seeing this... working fine here on FF 1.0.1 as well.

Now isn't this just typical of whereever this is?

Can whomever did the conversion to the new software reply or contact me? At home I now seem to be totally stuck -- no matter how I try to logon, all I get is "there is a problem with your login". Since I primarily use MC at home, this is particularly frustrating. I've tried deleting cookies and all that, but either I'm not finding the right thing or it's something else. Clearly it's not a generic browser issue 'cause I (and Wile and probably others) can use Firefox just fine. But at home it's not working....

Thanks.

Can you see if it's the same with IE?

Yea, I'll try tonight when I'm home again. As I was typing the last message, it occurred that that would help id the problem.

Today, I was having a similar problem. I could login to the main forum, but when I went to an individual board (Media Center, Plug-ins, etc.) I was kicked off and set to Guest status. It may or may not be the same as you. I am also using FireFox v1.0.1.

If you are having the same problem as me here is how I fixed it:
1. Remove all yabb.jriver.com cookies (I had 2)
2. Remove yabb.jriver.com from my exceptions list.
3. Close the browser
4. Open the browser and login again. Make sure you "Allow" the yabb cookies and not "Allow for session"

Thanks, UnknownID.

I did try with IE and that worked just fine -- frustrating of course, 'cause it meant it was a Firefox problem.

I thought I had deleted all the cookies, but I deleted the jriver ones, I had not seen the yabb ones. Once I deleted those, all is now fine. For the time being at least.

Keeping fingers crossed.  . .
