Media Server MC11 access from WAN
« on: April 14, 2005, 07:57:02 am »

Anyone have any tips on getting media server to work through my Linksys WRT54GS router?

I have other programs that use port fowarding fine, including the router's very own remote management; media server is not to be accessible from outside my network. Works fine from the inside on Port 80.

EDIT - I switched to port 2500 and still no go. Strangely, if I access the IP:2500 with IE or Firefox, the authentication window pops up labled as Media Server; Media Center , however, keeps claiming it fails to load a library at that location.

EDIT2 - I entered the IP w/o HTTP:// and it worked....

I'm not sure I follow. When you create the library, you used:
10.0.0.4:80 (just an example)
and it worked, but:
http://10.0.0.4:80
didn't work?

Are you trying to access your library from outside firewall?
