Buffalo LinkTheater UPnP and 999 music files
« on: June 21, 2005, 11:03:42 pm »

OK, that is a strange title, but that is what's going on.

1. Take a LinkTheeater and use it with the supplied software.
2. After it scans all music files (tagged by MC11), it reports 5000 files available to play.
3. Turn off BT supplied software
4. Start UPnP start in MC11.299.
5. Select "Playing now" playlist (5786 music files)
6. BT LT crashes trying to load (Web page not found
7. Make a new playlist in MC11.299 with the same files, but 999 of them in a playlist
8. List is retrieved.

Any ideas?

Who created the "Playing Now" playlist? Does the name affect the problem? Instead of "Playing Now", make a playlist called "Foo" and see if it still happens.

I created a playlist myself via F9 (Smartlist).

That's what I thought - but the name is suprising. Try your process again, but use a different playlist name. It will probably happen the same, but I want to eliminate the possibility that the playlist name is a problem.

OK, I created a new smartlist, with group name LT, and list name Rnadom list - 999 Tracks.

When I make tre list contain 999 tracks, it works, beyond that, it fails (the LT says it an't find the server).  The UPnP output on MC11 just says "retrieving LT/Random-999 Tracks" or something to htat effect, nothing that stands out.

The Buffalo is timing out, because the list is too long. It's not MC that is the bottleneck, it's the Buffalo.
I looked for a Buffalo forum, but couldn't find one.
