Another tag info/view columns question
« on: August 06, 2005, 03:44:38 am »

How do you others out there tag an album that is ie a "Various Artists" album, when it comes to Album, composition and Tracks naming regarding classical music? As far as I can see, one has to choose either one or the other, or include the album name. The info I'd like to see, is: Album Artist (performer)/Artist (composer)/Album name/composition name (Name)/Track#/Movement name (?). I don't quite know where to put the latter, unless I should use ie 01- Allegro, 02-Andante etc. in the name column. Any hints?

You should search the forum on this; I remember seeing a discussion about this from quite a few people who'd grappled with classical-music tagging.

But couldn't you just make your own custom fields to cover the extra parts?  You could then make a custom calculated field to put them all together...

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I also thought of a custom field, but I can't seem to find out how/where. I thought it would be available from View/Customzie current view/Add, but I can't find it there. Could it be because I have already made two custom fields (long ago)? Are there any limits?
