Restoring license trouble
« on: August 11, 2005, 12:17:52 am »

I just formatted my hard drive, went to reinstall media center 11, restore license using my email, says my license is a media center 9 license, but I've paid for an upgrade for 10 and 11. What do i do about this?

ps, putting in my paypal number from the media center 11 purchase with my email address yields "we could not authenticate your transaction"

Hi John/Chris

You are using the wrong e-mail and the wrong page. The e-mail is the comcast one, and the page to use is:

https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/restore.cgi

You were hitting the paypal support web page which only works to finalize paypal transactions that were interrupted in the middle. It won't do a license restore.

Let me know if you have any more trouble.

[sorry, I misspoke, it looks like you were using the right e-mail but the wrong web page. Try that e-mail on the restore page]

hey thanks for the help. I entered the comcast one in on the email restore page. It looks like all that happens is the page refreshes when i submit my email address.

I entered it, you should get the mail. You have to click the button, hitting enter doesn't work there (sorry).

Ok sorry, i figured it out. At the restore page if i enter my email and press enter the page restores. If i enter the email and click the send email button it works. So that was my problem in the first place.

Thanks for the help and being patient with my impatient self.
