Are the MC11.exe commands broken?
« on: August 09, 2005, 02:22:42 am »

I'm trying to run command line commands, but nothing happens on my system. Win XP SP2, MC 11.0.309. I have been migrating from Girder 3 to Girder 4 for quite some time, so I haven't used those commands, but they are a very important part of my wakeup system and other systems. Am I doing something wrong, or are they all broken? And I can probably not use windows messages since these commands rely on opening several different files.

OK, searching a bit in the forum and setting MC to Windows 2000 compatibility mode helped. But I see this ihas been a problem for a while. Any idea why?

Make sure you target MC11.exe in your system directory and not the older named launchers.

It's also worth uninstalling MC 10 if you still have it installed.

Finally, what is the process name in Task Manager when Media Center is running?  Is there a ~ in it? We've seen this in the past, and it could explain some issues.  If that's it, we'll fix it.

Thanks.

Thanks, Matt! It's the last one. This is a computer that has never even seen MC10, a two month old HTPC. Usually I see the tilde ~ in the name in Task Manager, but when I set it to Win2K compatibility, I see the full name. Do you know when that fix may be out?
