Video file formats
« on: August 25, 2005, 08:48:47 am »

Hi,

Is there a list of file formats that can be viewed in jriver ?  I was wondering specifically about .ts files.

Thanks,

Richie.

Saw this last night and the AVI format was ticked, but the AVI I have wasn't able to play.  Sound would come out but no video.  Do I need something else ?

You need to have the right video & audio codecs installed. AVI is a general container format that can contain videos made with various codecs. MC uses the codecs that are installed in the OS.

You could try this: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ffdshow.cfm

This tool can tell what codecs were used in making the video file: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/gspot.cfm

Depending on how you have your options set, you may need to switch to Playing Now to see the video.
