I've reinstalled XP and MC11 and can not now get it to be registered. I used up a restore (my first in 3 years) and got a new key, but MC11 rejects it and says it's valid only for MC10. So I uninstalled MC11, installed MC10 and registered it OK, but when I then reinstalled MC11 it was no longer valid. For the record, I am a paid user of MC11 for many months, but can't find any emails relating to when I upgraded from MC10, so I'm baffled as I'm usually so organised.

Please could someone from J River PM me to sort this out?

Your MC11 license e-mail was mediacenter.20....
Your MC10 license was jrmediacenter.20....

Both are now jrmediacenter.20....

I tried my old MC11 email address, but that's no longer on your system.

Any other ideas how to get my reg?

Did you try having our server send your Registration Codes again after I changed the e-mail address?

If you post your license it will be revoked.

I didn't try to get a new code immediately after I had the email address changed [several months ago I think]. I didn't realise I had to, I thought it was just for when the time came that I would need to use a restore (like now).

I apologise for having posted part of my reg code. I thought I had sufficiently masked it, but obviously I had not so please forgive this. I was just trying to illustrate the issue.

With respect, Jim, I have read the Purchase page but it is not helping me. If you can tell me which section is the key one, that would be great. I'm hoping you're not subtly implying I need to pay a second time  .

Did you try doing this?

Q: I lost the Install Key and the Registration Code.
A: Visit the Restore Page, enter the e-mail address your receipt was sent to, and you will receive the registration code by e-mail.

Yes Jim. I did that before I started this thread, I entered the email address I had on my records, jrmediacenter.20.vikshah AT recursor.net (which subsequently you confirmed as the correct one), into the form on https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/restore_email.cgi?displayemail=1 and a few seconds later I received an email from buy-button AT jriver.com as follows:

Here are the Registration Codes associated with your email address:
JRiver, Inc. Media Center 10: <HIDDEN-FROM-FORUM>, 10 restores left

I then pasted the Reg Code into the form at https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/restore.cgi and seconds later MC11 awoke with the message that the restore key was valid for MC10 only.

I tried all this again, entering my email address on the form, and I got another email back:

Here are the Registration Codes associated with your email address:
JRiver, Inc. Media Center 10: <HIDDEN-FROM-FORUM>, 9 restores left

ie one restore was used up.

Have I misunderstood the instructions?

Don't worry about restores.  Your spam filters may not like something in the Registration Code that our server is mailing you.

OK, though the fact I'm down to 7 restores is not a surprise as I've tried 3 times since yesterday to get a valid install key. And the only thing in my spam folder is a special deal on viagra.

So, to summarise:

I submit the email address that you confirm I purchased MC11 with to receive my MC11 Reg Code, but instead I receive my MC10 Reg Code.

What gives? How do I get the MC11 Reg Code? It would appear there's something screwy happening with your database.

Can you possibly just assign manually a new MC11 Reg Code for me, and revoke my 7 remaining restores to avoid any foul play? Pretty please, sugar on top?

John, thanks for investigating. Unfortunately I'm still having the exact same problem. I had my Reg Code re-mailed to me, but it was the same one as I received before. I entered it into the Restore form, but again MC11 says it's not valid. And I now have just 6 restores remaining. Hope you can get it fixed.

You are using your MC10 code. The e-mail should have two codes, one for MC 10 and one for MC11. I tried your MC 11 code, and it restored fine. You should have a copy of the license key in e-mail now.

That's all it contains, just the one code. Maybe you could email me my MC11 code directly and I could try to restore with that?

Sorry, I can't type. I've fixed it again, and resent the e-mail, take a look. You should have 2 codes there, if not, drop me a message here and I'll check further.
