Closing MC11 From Theater View
« on: November 04, 2005, 07:07:50 am »

I use MC11 on one of my computers almost exclusively in Theater View.  I have a USB-UIRT and Girder for remote control and want to be able to exit from MC11 with a single button push.  Currently I have my "Power Off" button mapped to "ALt F4", but in Theater View this only drops me out to Full Screen.  Is there a sendmessage command or similar option to close MC11 cleanly from Theater View?

Also, is it possible to get an updated list of sendmessage commands for MC11.  I am specifically interested in commands for the Theater View buttons.

Thanks,
widman

Have you tried command line calls to close from TheaterView (i.e.  "MC11.exe /Close")?

Yes, I finally figured out that was the way to do it.  Thanks for the reply.

Not sure if you want to just close MC or shut down, hibernate or suspend the whole PC.  If you need either of the latter options, just add a Theatre View button with the follwoing command:-

%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState

I am just closing MC11 from Theater View using "MC11.exe /Close".  I have seen other threads about adding buttons to Theater View, but I wanted to be able to use my remote to close the program.

I am still interested in finding out how to map the standard buttons (Home, Page Up, Page Down, Back...) to my remote control.
