Media Editor and MP3 files
« on: November 20, 2005, 04:00:18 pm »

I'm also having problems launching the Media Editor this morning.  I worked with it all day yesturday without a hitch.

Now I get an Program Error

"Media Editor.ex.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to resart the program"

I found out that Media Editor is only working with my wav files.  It's  having problems loading mp3 files I converted yesturday on this build.

Media Editor is audio only.  It won't edit mpg video files.

I don't know anything about MC's editing capabilities, as I don't use them.  But mp3 editing, it's not so good.  If my guess is right, the waveform is decompressed raw for editing, then recompressed when you save and you lose one generation of sound quality.  You're better off ripping from CD, editing that, then encoding to mp3, if your source is from CD.  If it's not, I guess quality isn't that important.
