Will BPM in tagging ever be in version 8.x.xxx?
« on: September 29, 2002, 03:38:22 pm »

I've seen the BPM support in v9 but I'm too impatient to wait for 9 to become stable.  Also, v9 is beginning to look like it will be too bloated for my use and I will probably not upgrade unless it has some other features I just have to have.

So...  any chance of getting BPM into tagging in a future release of version 8.x? ?

Bloated?

No, it won't be in v8.

Darn.  But if v9 allows the user to only install what they want and skip the rest, I might go for it after all.

JimH,
Sorry if "Bloated" rubbed you wrong.  I use it just to mean the software has way more functions than I'll ever use.  For someone else, it may be just right.

I don't understand why BPM won't be in version 8. According to all of the marketing info that has been presented here lately, the conceptual grouping of users is something like: MJ 8 music; MJ 9 Music, Video, DVD. What does BPM have to do with Video and DVDs?

Isn't there some rule about both calling software bloated and requesting features in one post?

And MJ 9 uses less memory and runs faster than 8...

A.  The "marketing info" on Interact is at a proposal stage.

B.  You can't expect us to be logical.
