mms streams to upnp
« on: November 26, 2005, 03:16:49 pm »

I've been pulling my hair out trying to get my favorite radio station to stream via upnp to my Buffalo Linktheater. Here's the link:

mms://wm-live.abacast.com/wxrv

Any idea what the problem is? I can play the link via 'open URL' in MC with no problems.

I'm playing it at the moment.

I changed the Media Type to Audio in the tag info, and I had to wait quite a bit for it to start, but it's working.

Hmm, it still isn't working for me. I changed the type tag to Audio as well, and I have the upnp options set to 'convert if necessary'. The upnp log shows 3 sharing messages before stopping, and the only thing appearing on the LinkTheater display while sharing is a black screen with a number down at the bottom, "65540".

12/04/05 14:57:13 - Sharing (with conversion): mms://wm-live.abacast.com/wxrv
12/04/05 14:57:28 - Sharing (with conversion): mms://wm-live.abacast.com/wxrv
12/04/05 14:57:43 - Sharing (with conversion): mms://wm-live.abacast.com/wxrv
12/04/05 14:58:44 - Received GENA message
12/04/05 14:58:44 - GENA Renew message

When the Sharing messages stop, the LinkTheater display goes back to my radio playlist.

I'm using the latest beta firmware for the LinkTheater, version 10-79-051019-03-LTI-240-000.

I don't know. I'm seeing the same thing as you, except after many seconds (30?) it starts playing fine. Have you tried repeatedly? It never worked?
