MC seems to prevent system to standby
« on: February 01, 2006, 11:19:58 am »

I installed recently MC on my media center which is running mainly SageTV. I usually leave MC in Standard View running. Since MC is running, the system doesn't standby automatically. Does this have to do something with the standard view? Is there a way to set MC to enable the standby?

Thanks,

Erik.

I'd imagine thats because you could be watching video
or visualisations, or pictures....
so Media Center disables it.
I don't think there is a way to stop MC doing so apart from minimizing Media
Center...

MC shouldn't prevent standby. (unless it's in Full Screen View)

There's a bug with the TiVo beacon software that talks to a TiVo with HMO.  Are you using TiVo?

Thanks.

Matt, I do use the Tivo plugin.  Is that what is preventing me from shutting down when MC is running?

Yes, that it is. It looks like it's a TiVo bug. I have a request in to the developers (through the TiVo Desktop Help function), and also a post on the TiVo forum here:

Feel free to urge TiVo to take a look at this (politely please)...
