OT: Cream - Baker, Bruce & Clapton
« on: February 03, 2006, 07:05:39 pm »

Just listening to, and watching, a Cream re-union concert on BBC TV.  What a brilliant band.  They really started something new in the late sixties.  Or am I the only one who remembers them first time around.  King Sparta, surely you do?  Clapton still rules.

I first heard of Eric Clapton when he was playing with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers.  I've still got the vinyl of that LP (Long Player for our younger readers  :)) which I bought instead of the Beatles Sgt. Pepper.  Money was tight then.  I couldn't afford both.

I kinda see according to my guitar playing experience.. jeff beck is killer guitar player than eric claption (huge space) .. away of beck's killer usage control of bendings, harmonies, whammy effects and his great own guitar tone charactaristics... he has a huge test in writing notes and solos.
